Senior Systems Administrator

  • Directly responsible for security, maintenance, and enhancement of Redhat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server 2003/2008 mission critical systems. Including Apache and IIS web servers, Bind DNS servers utilizing dynamic updates, Active Directory with Group Policy and Nagios monitoring systems.

Manager, Operations

Member of team that founded Blue Virtual in 2003. Blue Virtual currently manages over 150 servers and 3000 clients in a 24x7x365 mission critical operation.

  • Responsible for daily server administration and maintenance tasks on CentOS Linux and Windows 2003/2008 servers.
  • Established backup procedures for 15 terabytes, to remote location using NAS, iSCSI, rsync, LVM, DRBD among other services.
  • Researched, designed and implemented a disaster recovery plan of action including redundant data systems, network services, Apache web server configuration files and phone system.
  • Oversee development projects including optimizing SQL queries and data storage requirements.
  • Configure and administer Asterisk VOIP phone system. Modify call tree as needed.
  • Satisfy continuously ascending knowledge requirements to maintain technological advantages against competitors and reduce overall IT costs.

Part of initial management team responsible for the organization of CommuniTech.Net reaching $8,500,000 annual revenue. Company sold to Web.com in 2003, Kansas City site closed.

  • Designed, implemented and staffed dedicated, collocation and high end hosting department.
  • Managed network operations, end-user technical support, and provisioning personnel.
  • Individually grew and supervised department of 14 employees, managing over 2000 servers.
  • Addressed escalation issues and supported system engineering team that handled approximately 130 calls and 70 ticket issues daily.
  • Teamed with founding management to strategically plan and implement numerous acquisitions, including individual responsibility for cross-country server migration moving over 150 servers with 0% breakage.
