Honda announced, this week, that they will not field a factory race team for the 2009 AMA Supersport or Superbike series. Honda blames the economy, even though they are the ones building $12,000 liter bikes instead of something affordable. The new CRF-450r offroad dirt bike will retail for roughly $8,000 which is absurd in every way. Honda only has themselves to blame for their economic troubles, much like our own stateside auto manufacturers. It will be interesting to see what happens now that Suzuki and Kawasaki said they will not race under the new ruleset the DMG has put in place. Yamaha has an all new R1 to sell and should be able to put it on the top of the box in every round if no other factory teams show up.

My best guess is Carl Peterson and Matt Millen are positioning themselves for a run at Congress, because they are the only ones who are worse at their respective jobs currently. Peterson resigned yesterday from his General Manager post of the Kansas City Chiefs after the Chefs blew an 18 point lead in the last 2 minutes of the game to let the San Diego (super) Chargers win the game 22-21. If head coach. Herm Edwards, gets the boot too, I'll be a Chiefs fan next year...

Mocking the now infamous shoe throwing incident pertaining to George W. Bush in Iraq, Letterman and Conan of course had to dodge shoes in their monologue and throughout the rest of the show. Conan's hired hand threw a shoe too low for the 6'-5" talk show giant to duck under, as scripted. Conan then jokes that he was hit in the "crotch". I've been hit in the crotch with a shoe and I wouldn't have been able to finish telling jokes that no one laughs at, so it's a bit of a mystery as to whether he was telling the truth...

Are employers hiring the right people for jobs? Are they even looking at the right criteria for candidates? Why is it so hard for quality, talented people to find work that can fulfill them? I think it's a problem with the entire process. The job market has changed dramatically with the invention of the internet and employers are still using the same process for finding people as they were 30 years ago. Submit a resume, we'll call you if you are one of the first few we receive and have a nice looking resume, with plenty of fluff. Here's my idea...

Step Brothers, the Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly comedy, was released yesterday. There are a few comedies that I can truely see myself living out in real life. Step Brothers isn't one of those. I can think of a few people I know in this scenario, but not nearly as funny.
If you haven't seem this movie, you need to. The story is that Brenen's (Will) mom and Dale's (John) dad get married which means that Brenen and his mom move into Dale and his dad's house. Dale and Brenen are almost 40 years old, so they are well established in their own routines and aren't very receptive to the change. They hate each other at first, but then become best friends after realizing they have so much in common.
